Because the top and bottom plates on the Equipex PANINI XL/1 commercial panini press are grooved, they leave grill marks on bread, enhancing the presentation of sandwiches. Both plates are made of cast iron-a dense material that retains and uniformly distributes heat. Its top is adjustable and spring balanced, so it settles evenly on most products that are placed on the bottom plate. Operators can use the switch to direct the heat to the top and bottom plates, top plate only, or bottom plate only, depending on the application. The temperature is adjustable on the thermostat, which has a maximum 570-degree Fahrenheit setting. To hold utensils on each side, stainless steel shelves are included with this unit, but they can be removed to save space.
